March 1 Kick-off event: 20 of the resort staff’s children participated in the Lee Harris Memorial Swim and Snorkel Safety Instruction program. 8 volunteers instructed the children ranging in age from 6 to 15 on how to keep calm and stay alive in the water should you find yourself in a dangerous situation. |

March 4 Children from the CAPS private school in Curacao learned about the reef and had snorkel instruction. SUNSET DIVERS and LHMPF provided instruction. Each child made a contribution to the LHMPF. . |

May 1-9 Kids for Coral starts! Together with our enthusiastic volunteers and sponsors we are offering a free snorkel course for 20 children from Bandabou. The course consists of four lessons and a visit to Seaquarium where the kids explore the reef and learn how to snorkel safely and responsible. May 28 Educators Forum – 2 pm: Educators of Bandabou are invited to explore the ‘Savage Turtle Environmental Classroom’ at Sunset Waters Beach Resort to discuss their current environmental curriculum and how the Savage Turtle and our on-going programs can best benefit educators and schools.
